A wallet allows you to securely store assets and interact with decentralized applications on Rootstock.
Money On Chain supports mobile wallets, browser wallets, and hardware wallets. Popular options include Rabby, MetaMask, SafePal, Exodus, Ledger, and Trezor. The setup process is similar across most wallets, and detailed installation guides are available for each supported option.
Important: Always back up your recovery phrase and never share it with anyone.
RBTC is the native asset of Rootstock and is required to pay transaction fees on the network.
Like ETH on Ethereum, RBTC is used to pay gas whenever you interact with smart contracts. Without RBTC, you won't be able to submit transactions.
RBTC is pegged 1:1 to Bitcoin and can be obtained through exchanges, swap services, or by converting BTC through the Rootstock 2-Way Peg.
There are several ways to obtain RBTC depending on your preferred workflow.
Boltz allows you to swap between Rootstock, the Bitcoin Lightning Network, Bitcoin on-chain, and Liquid. It is often the fastest option for users who already hold BTC and want to start using Rootstock immediately.
Alternatively, you can convert BTC to RBTC using Rootstock’s 2-Way Peg mechanism. During this process, BTC is locked on the Bitcoin network and an equivalent amount of RBTC is released on Rootstock, maintaining the 1:1 relationship between both assets.

Once your wallet is configured and funded with RBTC, connect it to the Money On Chain dApp.
Once connected, you’ll have full access to the Money On Chain protocol, including minting, redeeming, and acquiring supported assets.

Nifty and Liquality wallets have been discontinued. Existing users are encouraged to migrate their funds or import their recovery phrase into a supported wallet.
