El Salvador is going through a deep change in many ways. Socially, culturally, economically, politically. Some call it the ‘Renaissance 2.0’ and most bitcoiners visiting or living in the country agree.
The rise of Bitcoin circular economies started here in El Zonte, what is known as Bitcoin Beach, but other projects have been rising up successfully over the last couple years.
Bitcoin Berlin is one of those circular economies you can’t avoid when visiting El Salvador. Led up by our guests Evelyn & Gerardo, this little town in the eastern mountains of the country is attracting several bitcoiners either for tourism or for the purpose of living there.
More than 100 merchants are accepting Bitcoin in Berlin, El Salvador, according to BTCmaps.org. The project is based in the Bitcoin Center Berlin, a place where they teach locals how to use Bitcoin, they give English lessons and more.
In this episode of Money On Chain’s ‘Talks with Sato’, Evelyn & Gerardo join CriptoLuis (Luis Esparragoza) to tell their stories, future plans & the reality of Bitcoin adoption in Berlin.
Enjoy!
